Version 0.9 (beta). Effective the date shown on this page.

We may update these terms; when we do, we will ask you to accept the new version before you continue using OnSiteO.

1. Who we are

OnSiteO is run by OnSiteO LLC, a California limited liability company, 1308 E Colorado Blvd Ste 107, Pasadena, CA 91106 ("OnSiteO", "we", "us"). You can reach us at support@onsiteo.com. Our website is onsiteo.com and our app is app.onsiteo.com.

These Terms of Service apply to everyone who uses OnSiteO: businesses that post work ("Clients"), independent technicians and field-service companies who do the work ("Technicians"), and visitors.

2. What OnSiteO is

OnSiteO is an online marketplace. It connects Clients that need onsite IT and low-voltage work with independent Technicians.

OnSiteO is not the employer of any Technician and does not perform the onsite work. Each job is an agreement between the Client and the Technician who accepts it. OnSiteO provides the tools to post, bid, communicate, confirm work and pay.

3. Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using OnSiteO, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. Depending on your role, you also accept:

  • Clients: the Client Terms.
  • Technicians and field-service companies: the Technician Agreement.
  • A company that both posts work and does work accepts both.

We record which version you accepted, when, and from what IP address and browser.

4. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. If you use OnSiteO for a business, you confirm that you are allowed to act for that business.

  • Give us true, current information and keep it up to date.
  • Keep your login private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • Do not create more than one account for the same person or business to get extra free jobs or avoid a suspension.
  • A company that adds crew members is responsible for the people it adds.

5. Verification and screening

Technicians complete a one-time identity check run by our payment provider, Stripe, before they can bid on or be assigned to jobs. OnSiteO keeps the result and basic document details, not your ID images or selfie.

Clients may be asked for business details to verify their business. The free plan is only for verified businesses.

Technicians can buy a background check through OnSiteO. It is run by Checkr, paid by the Technician, and described in the Technician Agreement. Drug tests are not available yet; when they are offered, the same applies. The legal disclosures and consent for a screening are given separately at the time of purchase.

Badges such as "ID verified" or "screened" only show that a check was completed. They are not a promise about anyone's conduct or the quality of their work.

6. How jobs work

  • A Client posts a job with the scope, site, schedule and price or hourly rate.
  • Technicians bid, or accept urgent jobs directly where that is offered.
  • The Client awards the job and funds it.
  • The Technician checks in on site, does the work, and submits it with photos, notes, hours and expenses as needed.
  • The Client approves the work, asks for a fix, or opens a dispute.
  • After approval, payment is released to the Technician.

If a client does not approve, reject or dispute submitted work within the review window shown on the job, OnSiteO may approve the work on the client's behalf and release payment.

7. Fees

Clients pay a platform fee of 10% on labor. Urgent jobs have a platform fee of 15% on labor plus a $25 booking fee.

Verified businesses may use the free plan: 1 job per company per month, with the first $500 of labor fee-free. The free job cannot be used for urgent jobs, and unused free jobs do not carry over.

Technicians pay a 0% platform fee and keep 100% of the agreed job pay and 100% of tips. Any fee charged by the payment provider for your payout will be shown before you receive it.

Fees and any payment processing charges are shown before the Client pays. We may change fees with notice. The fees shown when a job is funded apply to that job.

8. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. Technicians receive payouts through a Stripe account and must accept Stripe's terms.

Payment for a job is collected by our payment processor when the Client funds the job. The money is held by our payment processor until the Client approves the work, or until it is approved as described in Section 6, and is then released to the Technician. OnSiteO does not keep a stored balance or wallet for Clients.

AI never moves money. Payouts and refunds happen only after a Client's approval, an OnSiteO decision on a dispute, or the review-window rule in Section 6.

Each party is responsible for its own taxes. OnSiteO may collect tax information (such as a W-9) from Technicians and issue tax forms as required by law.

If a Client reverses a payment through their bank or card company (a chargeback) for work that was approved, the Client remains responsible for the amount. If a chargeback results from a Technician's fraud, OnSiteO may recover the amount from that Technician's future payouts.

9. Cancellations, refunds and disputes

A Client may cancel a job before work starts. Funded amounts are refunded according to the cancellation rule shown on the job.

If a Client is unhappy with submitted work, they can open a dispute. While a dispute is open, the money stays held by our payment processor. Both sides can give their side and evidence. OnSiteO then reviews the dispute and may release the payment, refund all or part of it, or send the work back to be fixed.

OnSiteO's decision only covers money held for the job on OnSiteO. It does not limit any legal rights the Client and Technician have against each other.

10. Staying on OnSiteO

Contact details are hidden until a Client and Technician have worked together on a job. Use in-app chat, interviews and calls before that. Chat may warn you, and OnSiteO may review messages, when contact or payment details are shared.

For 12 months after a Client and Technician first meet through OnSiteO, both agree not to move work arranged through OnSiteO off the platform to avoid OnSiteO's fees. Payments made outside OnSiteO are not covered by OnSiteO's payment or dispute process.

11. Rules for everyone

Do not:

  • post false jobs, fake check-ins, padded hours, fake receipts or false claims;
  • harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone;
  • request or perform illegal or unsafe work, or work you are not licensed to do;
  • misuse the free plan or create duplicate accounts;
  • scrape the service or collect other users' contact details;
  • interfere with security, probe the service, or access data that is not yours;
  • post content you do not have the right to share.

We use automatic checks (for example, check-ins far from the site, reused receipts, unusually long hours) to flag possible abuse. A person reviews flagged activity before we act on it.

12. Ratings

Clients and Technicians may rate each other. Ratings must be honest and based on real work. We may remove ratings that break these Terms.

13. AI features

Some features use AI providers to draft text or summaries, such as job descriptions or bid comparisons. We remove personal contact details before sending text to an AI provider. AI output is a suggestion and can be wrong. AI never awards jobs, approves work or moves money; people decide.

14. Insurance

Technicians are responsible for their own insurance. Some jobs may require proof of insurance. Optional per-job coverage through partners may be offered later under the partner's own terms. OnSiteO does not insure Clients, Technicians or their work.

15. Your content

You keep ownership of what you upload, such as job details, photos, documents and messages. You give OnSiteO a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display and use that content to run the service, resolve disputes, keep users safe and improve OnSiteO.

OnSiteO owns the OnSiteO name, logo, software and website. You may not copy or reuse them except as needed to use the service.

16. Third-party services

OnSiteO relies on other companies, such as Stripe for payments. Their own terms may apply to you. We are not responsible for their services.

17. Suspension and closing accounts

We may limit, suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, creates a safety or fraud risk, or where the law requires it. Where possible, we will tell you why. Money held for work that was already approved will still be handled under Sections 8 and 9.

You may stop using OnSiteO at any time. To close your account, email support@onsiteo.com. Some records are kept after closing as described in our Privacy Policy.

18. Disclaimers

OnSiteO is a beta service. It is provided "as is" and "as available." To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee any job, any Technician's work, any Client's payment beyond money actually collected, or that the service will always be available or error-free. Badges, screenings and AI suggestions are not guarantees.

19. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, OnSiteO is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data.

To the extent the law allows, OnSiteO's total liability to you for all claims related to OnSiteO is limited to the greater of the fees you paid to OnSiteO in the 12 months before the claim, or $100.

Some laws do not allow these limits. Where that is the case, the limits apply only as far as the law permits.

20. Indemnity

You agree to cover OnSiteO, and its owners and staff, for reasonable losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) from third-party claims that arise from your own work, your conduct, your content, your crew, your taxes, or your breaking these Terms or the law. This does not apply to the extent a claim is caused by OnSiteO's own fault.

21. Disputes with OnSiteO

If you have a problem with OnSiteO, please email support@onsiteo.com first and tell us what happened. We will try to resolve it informally within 30 days.

If we cannot resolve it, either side may go to court. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any court case will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and both sides agree to those courts' jurisdiction. Nothing here stops you from using small claims court if your claim qualifies.

22. Other terms

If part of these Terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a rule right away, we can still enforce it later. You may not transfer your account or these Terms without our consent. We may transfer them as part of a merger or sale of our business.
